To all members going to the 2025 Christmas Lunch.

Having visited The Hostess Restaurant this morning to finalise the arrangements for our Ru3a Christmas Lunch in 2 weeks time, on Tuesday 16th December, and I can confirm the following :-

The Hostess Restaurant
Sookholme Road, Mansfield Woodhouse, Nottinghamshire NG19 8LL

There is external parking for 100 cars.

The Function Suite is a long and rectangular room with 3 long rows of tables and a series of smaller tables alongside a window wall, and the layout is very ‘compact’.

We will make up approximately half of the diners in the venue and will have a long line of joined-up tables on the left internal wall side of the main dining room, comprising 25 seats each side of the table, with a shorter line of tables in the centre of the room comprising 10 seats each side.

I was advised it was not practical to have a seating plan, or reserve seats, so when you enter the restaurant from the bar and waiting area we advise you to have already met up in the outer bar area with the friends you would like to sit with, with seating in the room on a first come, first served basis and no seat saving.

The Bar will open at 11am, and diners will be invited into the Function room from just after 11.30am with dinner service commencing between 12noon and 12.30pm.  There will be a Christmas Quiz after the meal, and we are expecting to finish around 3.15pm.

You will be asked by the serving staff about your food preference and allergies once seated, and a separate vegetarian/vegan menu selection is available upon request to the serving staff.

There are two people who are now unable to attend, so if you have a Ru3a member friend who would like to attend and hasn’t got a ticket, then please contact me so I can pass on your details to make a private arrangement to purchase their ticket.
