Hello, I'm Michael Williams. Chair of Ravenshead u3a.

Established in 2012, we are a charity organisation catering for active people, no longer in full-time work.

Our prime purpose is to encourage lifelong learning and participation in a wide range of informal and enjoyable activities.

You will meet people who want to learn new things, share interests, keep active and enjoy socialising.

There is no age limit and anyone in the local area can join.

Ravenshead u3a is run by members, for members.

At the heart of Ravenshead u3a are over 50 Interest Groups.

These are run by u3a members who volunteer as Group Leaders. The group leaders organise meetings, activities, and trips for group members, who share the same passion for a particular subject or pastime.

Our groups enjoy activities such as Walking, Hiking, Table Tennis and Pétanque. There are Antiques, Fashion and Photography groups.

We have a Science and Technology group, a Maths group and a Living Well group. Not to mention Cinema visits, Quiz nights and a variety of Dining options.

If you don't see anything you fancy, but can offer your time and expertise, contact our Groups Coordinator, Anne Eldridge, about starting your own group. You will be provided with lots of support.

A big favourite with our members are day trips to places of interest within a couple of hours drive from Ravenshead.

We cater for varying tastes and budgets.

An educational or historical element will usually be incorporated into the trip.

Most importantly, our trippers have a fun and sociable time together.

Holidays for 2027 include a 6 night, Scottish Highlands adventure.

Monthly meetings are held on the second Tuesday of each month at 10:00 in St Peter's Church, Ravenshead.

The format includes a round-up of news from our Chair, Groups Co-ordinator and Trips Co-ordinator and a talk from a guest speaker. The tea and coffee break is an ideal time to socialise.

All members of Ravenshead u3a are welcome to attend.
