Day trip to Tamworth

This lipogram (poem with no letter u’s) is about the Tamworth castle trip.

Off we went on the Ravenshead coach
All excited in nice warm coats
Down the empty motorway
Sped along with no delay
To Tamworth Castle for a great day!

The weather was fine, no rain was seen
The park was lovely and so, so green.
The castle sat atop a hill
the view however was a thrill
soon inside, what a sight to be seen

the sparkling golden Staffordshire hoard
meant that we were never bored
some scaled the tower
not expecting a shower
coffee and friendliness we all adored

the travel home was very long
lots of traffic, something wrong?
Cars and lorries everywhere
Stop and start to drive one spare
greetings to all who came along
