In the April bulletin the newly elected Chair of Ravenshead u3a,Michael Williams, thanks outgoing officers for their service and outlines the new committee’s plans to reduce volunteer workload and modernise systems.
The next monthly meeting is scheduled for 10:00 am on Tuesday 12 May at St Peter’s Church, when Stephen Brown will speak, and members are invited to a Coffee & Cake drop‑in on Saturday 9 May to discuss groups and volunteering.
The committee is moving towards cashless payments, online membership applications and renewals, and electronic membership cards, with digital support offered as these changes roll out.
The bulletin also reports on efforts to strengthen links with GP surgeries for social prescribing, invites members to participate in a hearing‑in‑noise research study and the Third Age Trust wellbeing/learning survey, and notes early plans for a 2027 holiday to Kingussie.
Finally, Michael asks for volunteers to take on small roles or shadow existing officers to help share the workload and keep the u3a thriving.
