The Group is strictly non-party political and exists to promote friendly discussion on any topic of general interest. Members, if they feel able, are asked to take turns in deciding on a topic, preparing and chairing meetings.

Members are encouraged to do their own research on the forthcoming given topic to enrich the discussions and their learning.

The primary aims of the Group are friendliness, interest and learning and respect for the opinions and sensitivities of others.
