Set within 150 acres of woodlands, memorials and landscaped gardens, the National Memorial Arboretum offers a powerful and reflective experience.

A coach will depart from Ravenshead on Thursday 12 November at 9.00 with 2 pick up points; bottom of Church Drive near The Sherwood Ranger and the Top of Church Drive near the junction with Sheepwalk Lane. Our visit takes place the day after Remembrance Day, when tributes and displays remain in place.

The coach will leave The National Memorial Arboretum at 4.00 pm, so expected return time to Ravenshead is 5.00pm, depending on the traffic.

Tours and Activities

  • Guided tours can be booked on arrival (subject to availability; charges apply and are payable on the day).
  • A Land Train tour is also available. This 45‑minute tour does not allow stops during the journey. Cost: £8, payable on the day.

Daily Act of Remembrance

The Daily Act of Remembrance takes place at 11.00am in the Millennium Chapel, located on Heroes’ Square. Visitors should be seated by 10.50am.

Although Ru3a activities and outings are covered by third party Public Liability insurance, there is NO personal accident insurance cover. Members coming on the trip do so at their own risk.

Organisers aim to break even, although small surpluses may sometimes occur. If this happens, refunds will only be made where someone has overpaid, and only when the amount due is more than £5 per person.
