The Big Wheel - Heather
Our meeting began with the usual welcomes from Judith and apologies with members that couldn’t make it. Some others were also missing, however. Please let us know beforehand if you can.
Members were told that the September meeting (after the August break,) the theme would be Churches and Church Yards. This means that those who went along to the Rock Cemetery have an opportunity to show up to three of the photos taken on the visit. Of course, you can also opt to send in alternatives instead and those that didn’t have the opportunity to attend, can plan to visit suitable venues for the theme over the break.

The group then viewed and commented on the photos submitted on this theme. Once again there were a good variety of subjects shown with bicycles featuring in a variety of ways such as road races, close-ups of bike parts etc. Members had thought about composition and angles and gave us lots of information. Well done to all for their contributions. I’ll put a collection of these on the website soon!
Shots of the Month
There were several of these again and explained what, where and why of the photo giving us a good background of the image and in some cases how it had been processed before completion. Once again well done and thanks for sending these in.
NEXT MONTHS THEME: SCAPES
We then went on to talk about the theme for June which is SCAPES. We are including Landscapes Seascapes and Cityscapes, and the presentation (attached as a PDF) looks at each of these using some helpful web pages for guidance. The links in the pdf may not work correctly so here they are:

Also viewed was a video mainly connected to landscape photography which gave 50 tips. These revised some things that we have mentioned before, but is worth watching!

Andy B Galapagos Island Trip
We had time then to view some of Andy’s photos from the Galapagos Islands. This included information about the trip generally as well as some of the details of the animals he photographed and the situations and techniques concerned. It was an interesting excursion to hear about, and we thank Andy for taking the time to sort out his selection of photographs for us.
Remember that we like to have members taking part in the meeting. Giving a short talk (10 Minute Talk) on any subject that has a Photography connection is encouraged! Just let me know when you have something ready. Thanks.
