Thirteen walkers set off at 9.30am for Carlton in Lindrick for a 7.5 mile 'figure of eight ' walk. Thanks must go to our group leader for once again arranging perfect weather - warm sunshine and cloud with not a drop of rain to be seen.

Parking at the Bluebell in Carlton in Lindrick we walked for a short distance along the main road before joining a lane then footpaths through fields and wooded areas. A coffee break was enjoyed in the warm sunshine before returning to (almost) the walk's starting point at the centre of the figure of eight.

Crossing the busy main road we walked to the village pond where we made use of the picnic tables and benches to enjoy our lunch break, accompanied by numerous inquisitive ducks and ducklings.

Walking on lanes and footpaths we then made our way to Hodsock Priory (no longer open to the general public). Skirting the Priory we continued the walk until arriving back at the Bluebell for a sociable drink, enjoying the sunshine in the beer garden.

A thoroughly enjoyable easy walk (flat and no stiles), everyone was back in Ravenshead by 4.15pm
