On Monday 30 June 2025, 18 members of the Arts Appreciation group visited Mansfield Museum. For many members, it was a first visit, and they were fascinated that such an interesting and valuable resource, related to local culture and heritage, was tucked away at the top of Leeming Street in Mansfield.
As we reviewed the watercolours of old Mansfield painted by Albert Sorby Buxton, we reflected on how the town, and its surroundings, had changed.
After spending quite a time examining other exhibits donated by local benefactors such as Joseph Whittaker, we relaxed with a nice cup of tea.
