Despite an unfavourable weather forecast, 11 members of the Group set off for a 5.5 mile walk from the Derbyshire Village of Hartington. In the event the conditions were prefect with sunny intervals, no showers and excellent views. 

Our walk took us down Beresford Dale alongside the picturesque River Dove. After some refreshments, we then turned into Biggin Dale, a typical limestone dry valley, before ascending out of the valley, where we had good long range views over the Peak District before descending back into Hartington.

All of us then enjoyed a sociable drink outside the Devonshire Arms, the landlady must have thought her number had come up!  

On returning to Ravenshead mid afternoon, we were surprised to see how wet it had been, thus, despite her absence for this walk. our leader, Brenda, had once again ordered the best weather for us.
